About meI created T.A.C.K., (www.tackculture.com) which stands for Tack, Apparel, Culture, Knowledge, as a site where riders and retailers can learn details about different equestrian products and happenings.
So what is my background and how does it relate to T.A.C.K.? I started riding at age 7. My mother passed away when I was 2 so my father thought riding and caring for a pony would be a good activity for me. Little did my father know that what he initiated would result in me combining my passion with my career. The connection between horse and human is amazing. As a child I cared for my pony almost everyday all the way thru my teenage years. Mucking stalls, feeding, grooming my pony and riding taught me about all aspects of being an equestrian and I also learned about responsibility, problem solving and compassion. Those experiences helped mold me into the person I am today. While being around horses you never stop learning and no one day is ever the same. One day after a perfect dressage test you are on the top of the world and the next day you are on the bottom after having missed a fence in competition. It's very humbling as you just don't know what to expect from day to day and how you deal with each experience that comes your way is very telling. My current horse Quinn is a 7 year old TB with an old soul. He is very smart and I adore him.. We event at the novice level, compete at First level at dressage shows and occasionally you'll see us out in the hunt field. I chose the rep profession because I really enjoy selling products I believe in. I am always striving to establish strong and trustworthy relationships with my manufacturers, clients and their staff and besides selling I try and provide them with lots of education about the products and our industry. I use and compete in the products that I sell. I wear FITS and Irideon, Quinn goes in a Myler bit, and he wears Woof Wear boots and Toklat Classic Three Pads and I ride in DeNiro boots. Ok, having five pairs of DeNiro boots might be a little excessive. My husband Bill says I should open a boot store but those boots are like potato chips. You can't have just one! Thank you for taking the time to browse this site. I hope it will be a great reference for you and that you'll add it to your favorites on your tool bar and return often. |
